Other common names: greenthread, Indian tea, Apache tea, Navajo tea, etc.
All of the Pueblo tribes, as well as the Apache & Navajo, used this plant to make a delicious tea especially in winter, sometimes mixed with mint leaves. It acts as a mild diuretic, aids stomach disorders, muscle cramps and colds (Dunmire 1995).
Other use: gold or yellow dye.
